‘Rick and Morty:’ Here’s When You Can Watch Season 6, Episode 7

| Computer, Computers

Rick and Morty season 6 has now entered a short-ish hiatus. With the season’s final four episodes floating somewhere out in space, the show is taking a break for several weeks until Nov. 20. I would be looking forward to it, but I’m still as scarred as Morty and Summer from the last Thanksgiving episode.

“Please use this time to expand your mind in preparation for the rest of the season,” Adult Swim said in an Oct. 9 tweets announcing the break. An image shows Rick holding his grandson’s eyes open.

So far, season 6’s episodes have dropped on Adult Swim on consecutive Sundays at 11 pm ET/PT. The first part of the season followed the adventures of Rick, Morty, Summer, Beth, Space Beth and Jerry. At the end of episode 6 — the most recent one that ran on Oct. 9 — Rick announced he has fixed portal travel after putting it off during the season.

Rick and Morty’s sixth season is expected to eventually hit HBO Max and Hulu (for those without Hulu + Live TV). In 2018, Adult Swim renewed Rick and Morty for 70 episodes. When season 6 wraps up, we’ll have seen 30 of those.

For more on season 6, I defer to this description from a press release: “It’s season six and Rick and Morty are back! Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or

‘The Rings of Power’ Episode 7 Recap: What Isn’t on Fire?

| Computer, Computers

The second-to-last episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime Video confronts the aftermath of the Mount Doom eruption. What a mess. Plus, Durin gets emotional. If you need to catch up on last week’s episode, you can find it here.

Otherwise, spoilers lie ahead. You’ve been warned.

Let’s dig in! (But not too deep. There are bad things down there.)

spoiler-warning

More like Khazad DOOM, amma right?

KHAZAD-DÛM — When we last left off, Elrond had gone to Durin with a bonkers story about how the Elves need exposure to mithril in order not to die (I know, I don’t love the backstory either) and Durin agreed to talk to his father, the king. Welp, in episode 7, negotiations don’t go well. Despite Elrond promising everything short of his silver sideburn clippers, King Durin still feels mining for mithril is too dangerous, even if it means all the Elves are going to shrivel up or whatever.

TOUGH NOOGIES, ELVES.

Back at home, Prince Durin is distracted about the decision. Disa is pissed too and actively takes it out on a small ax she’s blacksmithing. Forget meditation. I want a blacksmithing forge for the sole purpose of stress relief. Then Elrond turns up looking like he just stumbled onto a particularly nasty subreddit about the show. They exchange one of those looks that just says it all and Durin starts crying. Mercy, these two must have a special bond if there aren’t any hard

| Computer, Computers

Seamless integration across Apple devices is just one good reason to grab a pair of Apple AirPods if you’re already using an iPhone and MacBook. However, there are several different AirPod models on the market right now, which can make it tough to know which are the best AirPods for you.

CNET is here to help. We’ve tested out all of Apple’s earbuds and rounded up the best models across the different generations below.

There’s a reason AirPods are always top best headphones lists for the year. But shopping for AirPods has become a lot more complicated now that Apple’s released multiple generations and versions of its AirPods. These different versions include standard AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

Confused? Don’t be: I’ll run down the differences and benefits of each. Note, too, that we’re pulling the Beats Fit Pro into this conversation — they’re certainly not “AirPods,” but that model of the Apple-owned brand is worth considering if you’re considering AirPods and looking for earbuds in the $150 to $200 range.

Great sound quality, a variety of ear tips for a snug fit, noise-cancelling technology and extended battery life thanks to a wireless charging case are aspects that undoubtedly contribute to AirPods’ perpetual appeal.

I’ll compare their feature highlights below to help you pick the best AirPods for your needs. Many times, choosing the best AirPods involves striking a balance between function and price, so we’ve mapped out the most current pricing for you as well. Here are

Uber’s Former Head of Security Convicted Over Concealing 2016 Data Breach

| Computer, Computers

Uber’s former head of security, Joe Sullivan, was found guilty in a federal court Wednesday of concealing a 2016 data breach for more than a year. A jury rejected Sullivan’s argument that other Uber executives were aware of the data breach and responsible for it not being publicly disclosed for over a year, according to Bloomberg.

Sullivan was convicted of obstructing justice by keeping the breach hidden from the Federal Trade Commission and actively hiding a felony by authorizing payments to the hacker responsible, according to the Washington Post.

The 2016 Uber hack exposed the personal data of 57 million drivers and users of the ride-sharing app, including names, email addresses and driver’s license numbers.

The hack occurred in October 2016 but wasn’t disclosed publicly until November 2017. Uber learned of the data breach in November 2016 and paid $100,000 for the cyber thief to delete the information.

In September 2018, Uber reached a settlement with all 50 US states and the District of Columbia to pay $148 million for failing to report the hack.

Uber didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Uber was again breached by a cyber attacker last month, with Uber laying the blame on hacking group Lapsus$which has breached Microsoft, Cisco, Samsung, Nvidia, Okta and Rockstar Games in 2022.

Uber said last month’s hack likely involved a contractor’s personal device becoming infected with malware when they accepted a verification notification, leading to their credentials becoming exposed. The employee’s credentials were

Twitter is being sued by former employees for Elon Musk’s mass firing

| Computer, Computers

The lawsuit alleges that the workers were not given enough notice of their firing in accordance with both the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) and the California WARN Act. These acts require that companies give employees at least 60 days of advance notice before a mass firing takes place.

“Look Ma I’m suing Twitter”

The lawsuit was filed in an attempt to “make sure that employees are aware that they should not sign away their rights and that they have an avenue for pursuing their rights,” Shannon Liss-Riordan, the attorney who filed the complaint on Thursday night, told Bloomberg.

The suit was filed in US District Court in San Francisco and names five workers as plaintiffs. The suit notes that one of the plaintiffs named had already been fired at the time of filing, while three others had been locked out of company accounts — an action presumed to indicate they will soon be formally terminated.

One of the plaintiffs named in the suit, Manu Cornet, tweeted their participation: “Was not planning on doing anything like this initially… But… Look Ma I’m suing Twitter.”

Twitter notified employees on Friday, November 4th, in an unsigned memo that “in an effort to place [the company] on a healthy path,” it will be “reducing our global workforce.” Musk is expected to cut around half of Twitter’s estimated 7,500 staff as part of an effort to reduce the company’s costs.

This is not the first time Musk’s management style has
