Now might be the time to finally take Jake Paul seriously as a professional boxer.

today, Jake Paul defeated Anderson Silva via decision in a boxing match that, unlike some Paul fights in the past, absolutely lived up to the hype.

It was a back and forth contest, with most onlookers having it even after the first six rounds. For most of the fight Paul did well at distance, landed sharp jabs to the head and body of the 47-year-old Silva, who tended to fight in patches. Silva’s best success came when he fought tight on the inside, landing multiple sharp uppercuts to the chin of Paul.

But in the eighth and final round, with a marauding Silva looking for the finish, Paul landed a clean shot that sent Silva to the canvas.

Despite that, Silva made it the final bell, with Paul winning a decision according to the judges, who scored the fight 77-74, 78-73, and 78-73.

Then Paul was very respectful towards Silva, but called out UFC fighter Nate Diaz and Saúl “Canelo” lvarez. He also made reference to joining forces with Silva to create a fighters union, to make sure MMA fighters in particular are paid fairly. Paul, on multiple occasions has called out the UFC for its pay structure.

It was easily Paul’s best fight to date. A fight in which he looked comfortable fighting a combat sports veteran with decades of experience. Paul was able to land multiple clean shots on Silva, a fighter once

The 2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 is finally here. After its debut as an experimental prototype at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Swedish EV builder Polestar announced a limited-run of the hotted-up Polestar 2 earlier this year. A few supply chain-related delays later — par for the course these days — and I find myself behind the wheel of the electric sport sedan on the damp and twisting back roads of the San Francisco Bay Area, my home turf, grinning from ear to ear.

Performance package upgrades

The Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 is essentially a Dual Motor Long Range model that’s been funked up with a bit of Polestar 1-inspired skunkworks stank. Each of the 270 examples begins life on a normal Polestar 2 assembly line before being whisked off to the Polestar Production Center — former home of Polestar 1 production — for hand-customization and upgrades.

The BST Edition 270 features the same performance software upgrade and power boost that makes the 2023 model year Performance Pack a more compelling upgrade since the last time we evaluated the 2. The software retune adds launch control and boosts the dual motor setup’s output to a combined 476 horsepower (350 kW) and 503 pound-feet of torque. That’s a decent bump over the 402 horsepower of the standard dual motor setup, enough to drop the 0 to 60 mph time from 4.5 seconds to 4.2 ticks. More straight line quickness is nice, but it’s the more responsive accelerator pedal

The Star Wars universe is expanding on Disney Plus in the form of Rogue One prequel series Andor, which takes place five years prior to the events of the 2016 movie. This 12-episode series kicked off on Sept. 21when the first three episodes hits Disney’s streaming service.

Five episodes are available now, and we’ll now get one episode each Wednesday until Nov. 23.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor, who plays a vital role as a spy in the early days of the Rebel Alliance against the totalitarian Galactic Empire.

Is there a trailer?

Lucasfilm gave us several trailers ahead of the show’s release, with the latest coming at parent company Disney’s D23 Expo in early September. You can also check out a 9-minute preview (mostly scenes from episode 3) in Disney Plus.

Will Andor get a second season?

It sure will. Creator Tony Gilroy confirmed at May’s Star Wars Celebration Anaheim that the show will return for a 12-episode second season that leads directly into Rogue One. It’s unclear when season 2 will air, but it’ll probably hit Disney Plus in 2023 or 2024. Expect to hear more at Star Wars Celebration Europe next April.

There were some tense moments over the last few days as Northrop Grumman’s NG-18 Cygnus space freighter journeyed to the International Space Station after a big glitch. Only one of the spacecraft’s two solar arrays unfurled, but NASA announced the cargo craft had pulled off a successful docking maneuver on Wednesday morning.

Cygnus is loaded with 4 tons of hardware, crew supplies and research equipment. It launched from Virginia on Monday morning. The ISS crew captured the spacecraft using a robotic arm and installed Cygnus on an available port.

NASA tweeted a video of the capture that clearly shows only one of the round solar arrays open.

NASA announced the solar array glitch in a short statement on Monday, saying Northrop Grumman was gathering data on the second array deployment and working closely with the space agency to investigate what happened. Northrop Grumman said the spacecraft had sufficient power to rendezvous with the ISS as scheduled. That assessment ended up being accurate.

The uncrewed cargo craft uses fold-out solar arrays that tuck away during launch and later open up like circular fans. A Northrop Grumman video from 2015 shows what the process looks like.

This particular Cygnus spacecraft is named the SS Sally Ride in honor of the first American woman in space. It’s carrying some imagination experiments related to 3D-printing human tissue and growing plants in microgravity.
