Of the four wild card series in the new 2022 MLB playoff format, only one comes down to a winner-take-all Game 3. The Mets and the Padres have each won one game, and Sunday they’ll play a final time to determine who moves on to face the Dodgers in the National League division series, and who heads home. Joe Musgrove gets the start for the Padres, opposed by Chris Bassitt of the Mets. Game 3 starts today at 7:07 pm ET (4:07 pm PT) on ESPN.

What’s the schedule for the Padres-Mets series?

The Mets nearly won the NL East but lost a tiebreaker to the Braves and now are facing the Padres in the wild card round. They did finish with a better record than the Padres, however, so all three games will be played at Citi Field in Queens.

Disney Plus is reviving the popular Tim Allen Santa Clause movies with an original series on the streaming service this holiday season.

Disney dropped the first trailer for The Santa Clauses on Thursday, giving us a glimpse at a familiar Santa Claus who hangs up his boots and beard to spend more time living a normal life with his family.

Faced with a world in which the kids to whom he once delivered presents have stopped believing in the magic of Christmas, Allen’s Santa finds a new clause in his contract allowing him to retire.

Santa (formerly known as Scott Calvin), his son Charlie (Eric Lloyd), his wife Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell) and their children Cal (Austin Kane) and Sandra (played by Allen’s real-life daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick) move to the regular world, but are soon drawn back into the magical North Pole when it becomes clear Santa “retired too soon [and] hired the wrong guy.”

Elves begin disappearing and Christmas itself is at risk of ending.

2022 is still the Year of the Wordle. Somehow it has maintained its hold on the public consciousness and over Google’s all-seeing algorithm. I still see tweets, every morning, of people doing the Wordle. In the wake of its huge success there have been dozens — maybe even thousands — of Wordle spinoffs covering everything from geography to music to mathall replete with their own little green and yellow squares ready for posting to social media.

I used to wake up, roll over, open Wordle, mess around until I get the day’s word, then flip over to Worldle and guess a country, skip over to Heardle so I can guess the day’s song, open a new tab to get through Quordle (solving four Wordles at once) and then, of course, hit Wordle (BTS Version). OK, maybe not that last one.

After all that, it’s usually 10:30 am The bite-size, web-based delights were absolutely tanking my morning productivity.

I started getting pretty tired of seeing new Wordle spinoffs and clones. Some were half-hearted. Others were plain ripoffs seeking a quick buck. The truth is the spinoffs never really captured the magic of the original. Wordle felt fresh and new and like a bright light during a pretty dark time.
