Best Power Bank for iPhone for 2022

| Computer, Computers

The iPhone 14 has an impressive battery life, but even the latest Apple phone won’t run forever. Having your phone die on you at an inconvenient time is one of the worst feelings in the world, so why wouldn’t you take the proper precaution to make sure you always have a charge on you? There are plenty of great solutions, and they’re affordable, too. There are battery cases that can add a few extra hours of juice, but they also add a lot of unnecessary weight. Plus, they’re bulky and hide your new iPhone’s beautiful design. That leaves portable battery chargers and external power banks as the best option for increasing your iPhone battery’s lifespan.

To that end, I’ve rounded up the best portable power banks and battery chargers that will add a little extra oomph to your iPhone’s battery life. Although they cost more, I personally like batteries that have a Lightning cable built into them, so I don’t have to worry about carrying around a charging cable for fast-charging when I don’t have enough power. But I’ve also included some budget picks for the best portable charger for iPhone models, and of those, some come with a charging cable for those who want to spend as little as possible on charging their Apple devices via power pack.

While this list is geared toward iPhones, any portable battery pack here without an integrated Lightning cable will work perfectly well for charging an Android smartphones (or any other portable gadget),

| Computer, Computers

Anna May Wong, considered to be Hollywood’s first Chinese American movie star, will be the first Asian American to appear on US currency.

Wong will appear on a new quarter as part of the US Mint’s American Women Quarters Program, which celebrates the accomplishments and contributions made by American women to the development and history of the US in fields such as suffrage, civil rights, abolition, government, humanities , science, space and the arts.

The program honors five distinguished American women each year. This year, Wong will join writer Maya Angelou, astronaut Sally Ride, Cherokee leader Wilma Mankiller and suffrage movement leader Nina Otero-Warren.

The heads side of Wong’s quarter will feature a portrait of George Washington, while the tails side will feature a close-up image of Wong with her head resting on her hand, surrounded by the bright lights of a marquee sign, the US Mint said Tuesday. The quarter will make its debut on Oct. 25.

Over the course of her varied career, which spanned silent movies, sound movies, stage and TV, Wong’s portrayals of Chinese characters helped combat stereotypes among white audiences at a time of overt racism and discrimination.

Wong was born Wong Liu Tsong on Jan. 3, 1905, near Chinatown in Los Angeles. When not in school or working at her father’s laundry, Wong would hang around film crews as movies were being shot in her neighborhood, begging filmmakers to cast her in movies. By the

Motorola’s New Rollable Phone Concept Changes Size With the Press of a Button

| Computer, Computers

Motorola just announced a new concept for a rollable smartphone with a screen that expands and contracts with the press of a button. The company demonstrated the device at Lenovo Tech World, and it’s the latest example of how tech companies are experimenting with ways to push the modern smartphone forward.

Lenovo’s rollable phone concept has a 5-inch screen that can extend to 6.5 inches when unfolded. That makes it more compact than even the iPhone 13 Mini when in its small mode, and almost the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max when fully expanded. The company has no plans to release the device yet since it’s just in the concept stage.

The announcement comes after Motorola announced the third-generation Razr in China in August. Prolific smartphone leaker Evan Blass had previously reported that Motorola was in the early stages of developing a rollable smartphone, as he posted on the blog 91Mobiles in May.

Motorola’s approach to rollable smartphones differs from some of the other concepts we’ve seen so far. Companies like Samsung and TCL, for example, have developed concept devices with screens that expand horizontally rather than vertically to switch between smartphone and tablet mode. But with its concept, Motorola aims to provide a smartphone that can switch screen sizes depending on the situation rather than developing a smartphone-tablet hybrid.

Motorola’s rollable phone concept can change its screen size with the press of a button.

Best E-Reader for 2022 – CNET

| Computer, Computers

Nothing beats curling up at home with a good book. However, not everyone has the room for a physical collection of all their favorite titles. Fortunately, a hard copy isn’t the only way to enjoy a book.

E-readers are a convenient alternative that allow you to store hundreds, or even thousands, of books and stories in a single lightweight tablet that you can take just about anywhere. And if you’re looking for the best e-reader 2022 has to offer, we’ve rounded up great options on the market. There are tons of advantages to switching to an ebook reader, including the built-in lighting found on many models, which makes them easy to use in low-light conditions. And you can find tons of ebooks for free online, which can help you save money, too.

Sure, you could use just your phone to read, but that’s not an ideal experience. The thing about dedicated e-readers: They don’t have email, the internet, social media or other distracting entertainment options to lure you away from reading. They also have great battery life. Unlike popular phones and tablets, which can get washed out in direct sunlight or boasts a mighty and painful glare, many e-readers use E Ink, which produces something of a monochromatic text display.

I love E Ink displays because the suspended layer and non-glossy screen make your e-reader resemble printed paper. That’s probably the best e-reader feature if you have sensitive vision, since it’s much kinder on the eyes. The glare-free touchscreens make

Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Blocked Temporarily by Appeals Court

| Computer, Computers

The Biden administration’s student loan forgiveness plan has been put on hold by a federal appeals court as it considers a challenge to the program by six Republican-led states. The temporary halt prevents the government from erasing any debt, which it had said it could’ve started doing as soon as Sunday.

A district court dismissed the Republican states’ case on Thursday for lack of standing, but on Friday, the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit granted a stay in response to an appeal by those states. The government has until Monday to respond to the states’ appeal, and the states have until Tuesday to reply to the government’s response.

The Biden administration’s plan would forgive up to $10,000 in federal student loan debt for borrowers making less than $125,000 a year (or $250,000 for married couples). Recipients of a Pell Grant for low-income students would have $20,000 of debt erased.

US President Joe Biden put the student loan forgiveness plan in place with an August executive order. The administration pointed to the COVID pandemic and to a federal law it says empowers the education secretary to lessen the burden that borrowers may suffer as the result of a national emergency.

The Republican-led states — Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and South Carolina — argue that the Biden administration overstepped its legal authority and that the plan would injure them financially. The district court judge dismissed their case, saying the states hadn’t shown how the program would directly
