Black Adam: Post-Credits Scene, Awesome DC Superhero Cameo Explained

Black Adam landed in theaters last weekendbringing DC Comics’ violent antihero to the silver screen for the first time in live action. With Dwayne Johnson in the lead role, Adam batters hero and villain alike after being released from a 5,000-year imprisonment, from the early scenes until the credits roll (the post-credits scene is comparatively chill).

“The arrival of megastar Dwayne Johnson in the DC universe, plus the long wait for the film’s arrival, built Black Adam into feeling like an event,” CNET’s Richard Trenholm said in his review. “Now it’s here, and it doesn’t feel that momentous. Still, it’s a big spectacular time at the movies, and what more do you want from the Rock?”

Much of this Shazam spinoff’s conflict is caused by the friction between Adam and the Justice Society of America, which includes Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Cyclones (Quintessa Swindell).

We’re smack in the middle of new phone season and getting close to the time when some of us are going to have to start worrying about wish lists and stocking stuffers, so I want to look at an accessory that may be on some people’s radar : the PopGrip JumpStart, a $35 battery bank that attaches to your phone via PopSocket’s quick release mechanism and provides around a 50 percent charge via a built-in or cables.

When I first heard about it, I hoped that the JumpStart would be both a good battery bank and a good way to hold my phone. Unfortunately, I found that it was relatively mediocre at the first job and worse at the second, making it a bit unclear who exactly this product is for.

I will say a few nice things before I really dig in, though. The JumpStart is a very nice object, made of a textured plastic shaped into a little ovular puck with the classic PopSocket sleeve on the back. On the top of the puck is a single button, which you click to start charging and which has a light that acts as a power indicator.

When you attach it to PopMount 2 products (aka the ones with the replaceable tops), it clicks into the mount with a satisfying sound. However, once you pop it out,

Disney Plus is reviving the popular Tim Allen Santa Clause movies with an original series on the streaming service this holiday season.

Disney dropped the first trailer for The Santa Clauses on Thursday, giving us a glimpse at a familiar Santa Claus who hangs up his boots and beard to spend more time living a normal life with his family.

Faced with a world in which the kids to whom he once delivered presents have stopped believing in the magic of Christmas, Allen’s Santa finds a new clause in his contract allowing him to retire.

Santa (formerly known as Scott Calvin), his son Charlie (Eric Lloyd), his wife Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell) and their children Cal (Austin Kane) and Sandra (played by Allen’s real-life daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick) move to the regular world, but are soon drawn back into the magical North Pole when it becomes clear Santa “retired too soon [and] hired the wrong guy.”

Elves begin disappearing and Christmas itself is at risk of ending.

Also returning from the original movies is David Krumholtz as head elf Bernard.

First James Webb Space Telescope Images Get Glow Up From X-ray Filter

In January, NASA’s long-awaited multibillion dollar James Webb Space Telescope reached its gravitational safe space a million miles from Earth. In July, it began to take our breath away.

One by one, astonishing vignettes of a glimmering universe have decked our screens, each image somehow more thought-provoking and beautiful than the last. Even so, I’d argue the telescope’s seminal masterpieces will always occupy a special corner of our hearts. Toffee-hued cliffs of the Carina Nebula and fairy-dusted galaxies of Stephan’s Quintet are ever ingrained as the JWST’s first dance with deep space, and our first dance with the JWST.

That said, thanks to data collected by NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, the agency managed to enhance some of those brilliant JWST starter pics — with positively electrifying results.

Behold, a new and improved version of the JWST’s Carina Nebula, Stephan’s Quintet, and deep field SMACS 0723.3–7327 from image set No. 1, as well as an updated iteration of the slightly more recent Cartwheel Galaxy portrait.
